Antivert Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Antivert® is an antihistamine. It helps to prevent nausea, vomiting, or dizziness that are associated with motion sickness, and also to treat or prevent vertigo.

Antivert Dosage

• For the treatment of Motion Sickness, you should be taken 25 to 50 milligrams 1 hour before traveling.
• For ther treatment of Vertigo, the usual starting dosage is 25 to 100 milligrams per day.

Uses of Antivert

• Meclizine is used to treat nausea, vomiting, and dizziness that are associated with motion sickness.

Side Effects of Antivert

Before taken Antivert medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Antivert. Side effects may include:

• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth

Warnings and precautions before taking Antivert:

• If you have asthma, glaucoma, or an enlarged prostate gland, then you should tell your doctor before using Antivert.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Antivert with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. Antivert may intensify the effects of alcohol. So you should tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of drugs that have a drowsiness effect such as medications for cough and allergies, drugs used for sleep, anti-seizure medications, narcotic pain drugs, barbiturates, tranquilizers.

Overdose

After taken Antivert if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Antivert overdose include

• Decreased breathing
