Azmacort Medication- Uses & Side Effects

Triamcinolone is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that may cause inflammation. Azmacort® is a corticosteroid that is used by inhaling the drug into the lungs. It helps to reduce and control the symptoms of asthma such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest tightness and other lung conditions.

Azmacort Dosage

• For adults, the usual starting dose is 2 inhalations and you should be taken 3 or 4 times a day.
• For children 6 to 12 years of age, the usual starting dose is 1 or 2 inhalations and you should be taken 3 or 4 times a day or 2 to 4 inhalations taken twice a day.

Uses of Azmacort

• Azmacort is used to prevent asthma attacks and other conditions involving inflammation of the lung tissues.

Side Effects of Azmacort

Before taken Azmacort medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Azmacort. Side effects may include:

• Back pain
• Flu symptoms
• Headache
• Sinus inflammation
• Sore throat

Warnings and precautions before taking Azmacort:

• If you have tuberculosis, an untreated infection, or a herpes infection of the eye, then you should be used this drug with extra caution.
• If you are using this drug, then it may cause a yeast-like fungal infection in the mouth and throat.
