Carmaz Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant and specific analgesic for trigeminal neuralgia. It is used to treat acute mania and the also used to treat bipolar disorders.

Carmaz Dosage

  • Take this medication exactly as directed by your doctor.

Side Effects of Carmaz

Before taken carmaz medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor.  If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking carmaz. Side effects may include:

  • Headache
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Sweating
  • Dizziness

Warnings and precautions before taking Carmaz

  • If you are taking carmaz, then you should be used with caution in patients with a mixed seizure disorder such as atypical absence seizures.
  • After taken carmaz, you may feel some dizzy or drowsiness. So you should not participate in any activities requiring full alertness such as drive or operate machinery.
  • If you are pregnant or if you are breast feeding, then you should not used carmaz. You should tell your doctor if you become pregnant, or you are trying to become pregnant, while you are taking carmaz.
  • Carmaz medicine may cause increased sensitivity to the sun. So you should avoid exposure to the sun, sunlamps.
  • Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking carmaz with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining carmaz with the other drugs. You should not start any medicine without talking to your doctor.

Overdose

After taken carmaz if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of carmaz overdose may include:

  • Irregular breathing
  • Respiratory depression
