FML Medication - Uses & Side Effects

FML is a steroid eye ointment and it is used to treat inflammation of the eyelid and the eye itself.

FML Dosage

• If you are using FML Ointment, then you should be apply a small amount of ointment between the lower eyelid and eyeball 1 to 3 times a day.
• If you are using FML Liquifilm, then you should place 1 drop of suspension between the lower eyelid and eyeball 2 to 4 times a day.

Uses of FML

• It is used to treat inflammation of the eyelid.

Side Effects of FML

Before taken FML medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking FML. Side effects may include:

• Allergic reactions
• Blurred vision
• Cataract formation
• Dilation of the pupil
• Eye inflammation
• Glaucoma
• Increased eye pressure
• Slow wound healing

Warnings and precautions before taking FML:

• If you are using this medication, then prolonged use of FML may result in glaucoma, cataract formation or the development or worsening of eye infections.
• When you will used this medicine in the presence of diseases that cause thinning of the cornea or the sclera, then it may cause punctures.
• This medication should be used with caution after cataract surgery.

Drug Interaction :-

No interactions with food or other drugs have been reported. But if you are taking FML with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining FML with other drugs.

Overdose

Overdosage with FML will not ordinarily cause severe problems. But after taken FML if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately.
