Glucotrol Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Glucotrol is in a class of drugs known as sulfonylureas. Glucotrol is used together with diet and exercise to control non-insulin-dependent, or Type II, diabetes.

Glucotrol XL Dosage

  • The usual starting dose is 5 milligrams and you should be taken before breakfast.
  • The maximum daily dose is 40 milligrams and total daily dosages above 15 milligrams are usually divided into 2 equal doses that are taken before meals.

  • Glucotrol is an oral drug that is used for treating patients who have type 2 diabetes.

Side Effects of Glucotrol XL

  • Diuretics such as HydroDIURIL
  • Estrogens such as Premarin
Overdose

After taken Glucotrol XL if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect or an overdose of Glucotrol can cause low blood sugar.
