Inderal Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Inderal® belongs to a group of medicines known as beta-blockers. It reduce the workload on the heart and help it to beat more regularly. It is used to treats irregular heart rhythms and also relieves chest pain.

Inderal Dosage

• The usual starting dose is 40 milligrams and you should be taken 2 times a day.
• The usual starting dose is 80 milligrams to 320 milligrams, divided into 2, 3, or 4 smaller doses.

Uses of Inderal

• Inderal is used to treat tremors, angina, hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, and other heart or circulatory conditions.
• It may also be used to treat other medical conditions those are listed in the medication guide.

Side Effects of Inderal

Before taken Inderal medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor.  If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Inderal. Side effects may include:

• Abdominal cramps
• Colitis
• Depression
• Fever with sore throat
• Hair loss
• Light-headedness

Warnings and precautions before taking Inderal:

• You should not be stopped Inderal suddenly. Because it can cause chest pain and heart attack. So your dosage should be gradually reduced.
• If you suffer from asthma or other bronchial conditions, coronary artery disease, or kidney or liver disease, then you should be used this medicine with extra caution.
• After taken this medicine, then you may feel dizzy, or drowsiness. So you should not participate in any activities that require alertness such as driving and operate machinery.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Inderal with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Inderal with the following:

• Aluminum hydroxide gel
• Calcium-blocking blood pressure drugs such as Cardizem, Procardia
• Epinephrine
• Haloperidol
• Insulin
• Lidocaine

Overdose

After taken Inderal if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Inderal overdose include:

• Uneven heartbeats
• Shortness of breath
• Bluish-colored fingernails
• Dizziness
• Weakness
• Fainting
