Micardis HCT Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Micardis HCT is a combination of two medication component and it is used to treats high blood pressure. One component, telmisartan, belongs to a class of blood pressure medications that work by preventing the hormone angiotensin II from constricting the blood vessels. The other component of Micardis HCT, hydrochlorothiazide, is a diuretic that increases the output of urine. It work by removing excess fluid from the body and also helps lower blood pressure.

• The usual starting dose is one 40/12.5 tablet per day.

• Alcohol
• Barbiturates
• Cholestyramine
• Digoxin
• Insulin
• Lithium
• Muscle relaxants such as tubocurarine
• Narcotic painkillers such as Percocet
• Other blood-pressure lowering drugs
• Steroid medications such as prednisone

Overdose

After taken Micardis HCT if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Micardis HCT overdose include:

• Dizziness
• Excessive thirst
• Irregular heartbeat
• Low blood pressure
• Muscle pain or cramps
• Nausea
• Rapid or slow heartbeat
