Minipress is used to treat high blood pressure. It is effective used alone or with other high blood pressure medications such as diuretics or beta-blocking medications such as Tenormin. It is also used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, an abnormal enlargement of the prostate gland.

• For adults, the usual starting dose is 1 milligram, 2 or 3 times per day.
