Norgesic Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Aspirin is in a class of drugs known as salicylates. It work by reducing substances in the body that may cause pain and inflammation. Caffeine is used with this medicine to increase the pain relieving effects of aspirin and orphenadrine. Orphenadrine is a muscle relaxant. It works by blocking nerve impulses that are sent to the brain.

Norgesic Dosage

• For adults, the usual starting dose of Norgesic is 1 to 2 tablets and you should be taken 3 or 4 times a day.
• If you are using Norgesic Forte, then the usual dosage is exactly twice the strength of Norgesic.

Uses of Norgesic

• It is used to help certain muscles in your body and to relieve the pain and discomfort that may be caused by sprains, strains or other injury to your muscles.

Side Effects of Norgesic

Before taken Norgesic medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Norgesic. Side effects may include:

• Blurred vision
• Weakness
• Confusion
• Vomiting
• Constipation
• Stomach and intestinal bleeding
• Difficulty in urinating
• Light-headedness
• Fainting
• Hives

Warnings and precautions before taking Norgesic:

• Norgesic contains aspirin, then you should be used this medicine with extra caution if you have a peptic ulcer or problems with blood clotting.
• If you are 65 or older, then you should be used this medicine with extra caution. Because it may cause severe drowsiness or dizziness.
• You should also be avoided aspirin, aspirin-containing products, ibuprofen or like products, other blood thinners such as warfarin, ticlopidine, clopidogrel.
