Prilosec Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Prilosec is used for the short-term treatment of the following conditions such as Stomach ulcer, Duodenal ulcer, Erosive esophagitis, Heartburn and other symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease.It is also used to maintain healing of erosive esophagitis.

Prilosec Dosage

• For short-term treatment of Active Duodenal Ulcer, the usual starting dose is 20 milligrams once a day.
• For treatment of Duodenal Ulcers that may be Caused by H. Pylori, the usual starting dosage is 40 milligrams daily.
• For the treatment of Gastric Ulcer, the usual starting dose is 40 milligrams once a day.

• Prilosec is used for the short-term treatment of the following conditions such as Stomach ulcer, Duodenal ulcer, Erosive esophagitis.

Side Effects of Prilosec

• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Nausea
• Vomiting

Warnings and precautions before taking Prilosec:

Drug Interaction :-

• Ampicillin-containing drugs such as Unasyn
• Cyclosporine
• Diazepam
• Iron
• Ketoconazole
• Phenytoin
• Warfarin

Overdose
