Sinequan Medication - Uses & Side Effects

Sinequan® belongs to a group of medicines known as tricyclic antidepressants. It is used to affects the chemicals in the brain that may cause depression. It is used to treat depression, panic disorders, psychotic depression, and also decrease the incidence of chronic headache or migraine.

Sinequan Dosage

• The usual starting dose is 75 milligrams per day.
• If you are older people, then you should started on a low dose.

Uses of Sinequan

• Doxepin is used to treat the symptoms of anxiety such as feelings of sadness, worthlessness, or guilt; changes in appetite; tiredness; insomnia, and thoughts of death or suicide.

Side Effects of Sinequan

Before taken Sinequan medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor.  If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Because only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Sinequan. Side effects may include:

• Blurred vision
• Trouble urinating
• Rash
• Water retention
• Drowsiness
• Itchy or scaly skin
• Light sensitivity
• Constipation

Warnings and precautions before taking Sinequan:

• You should not be stopped Sinequan medicine without talking with your doctor. Because it may cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, chills, insomnia or anxiety.
• When you are taking Sinequan medicine, then you should not drink alcohol. Because it may cause to another serious effects. So you should be used this medicine with extra caution.

Drug Interaction :-

If you are taking Sinequan with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Sinequan with the following:

• Propafenone
• Quinidine
• Cimetidine
• Flecainide
• Guanethidine
• Carbamazepine
• Tolazamide

Overdose

After taken Sinequan if you feel that overdose is suspected, then you should contact with your doctor immediately. Because it may lead to another serious effect. Symptoms of a Sinequan overdose include:

• Agitation
• Vomiting
• Coma
• Stupor
• Severely low blood pressure
• Dilated pupils
• High or low body temperature
